So here it is straight: start contacting owners at least a month before the date, and two months ahead if it falls in July or August or on a weekend.

Why Salt in particular for a daytime party

What decides where a henna party happens is the drive, not the pool, because you are moving guests rather than a group of friends. Half an hour from Amman means grandmother comes, the cousin who works mornings makes it by the afternoon, and nobody sends apologies over the distance.

Farm is a description here, not marketing. Half of what we list in Balqa is registered under that word; the rest are a villa and a chalet. A farm is a large walled plot with a pool, an outdoor yard and a simpler building to stay in, which is the shape a party with a guest list fits into; a villa gives you better fittings indoors and less outdoor room for tables.

Three local names recur in searches for the area: Subeihi, Sarw and Jal'ad, the districts where rental farms cluster around the town. None of our four listings names one: three record their address as simply Salt, and one sits on Sixty Street. If the exact location matters, ask the owner which district it is in, and where the last turning is, before you pay.

Balqa farms and chalets: what our directory actually holds

Even so, no listing in our directory carries a confirmed statement that it offers one; the field is unpopulated on all 450 listings, so we cannot promise it for any specific place. What to ask the owner before you pay a deposit

• Guest numbers the place actually takes. We publish no stated capacity for any chalet; that figure comes from the owner.
• Sound: whether speakers or a band are allowed, until what hour, and how far the nearest neighbour is.
• Food: whether an outside caterer is allowed, whether there is a kitchen or prep space, and whether the grill and charcoal are included.
• Power: enough sockets for the stage lighting and the sound gear, and a generator for a cut.
• Shade: how many shaded seating areas, and when the sun reaches them. That decides a July afternoon far more than pool size does.
• Payment: the deposit amount, whether it is refundable, and what happens if it rains.
• A recent photo of the yard before you pay. A serious owner sends one in minutes.

If your guests are coming from Amman and you want all of them to show up, Salt is the distance nobody excuses themselves over. There are four options, not forty, so choose early and talk to the owner yourself: open Salt and Balqa farms and chalets, compare the photos and ratings, then message on WhatsApp directly, with no booking commission and no account.
