Wadi Rum Desert Base Camp

Set against a dramatic rock face in Wadi Rum, the camp consists of traditional striped Bedouin tents with simple, comfortable mattresses and wide windows that frame the desert and mountains. Outside, low cushions and woven carpets gather around an open fire pit where coffee and tea are prepared and evenings are spent under a dense star field. Breakfast is served family-style with bread, cheese, eggs, olives, honey and dates alongside hot tea. The camp emphasizes a down-to-earth desert experience rather than hotel luxuries: walks among the rock formations are easy to take from the site, guided walking tours are arranged, and encounters with camels or short camel rides are sometimes part of the activities. The setting is quiet and immersive — sunrise and sunset change the colors of the cliffs, the night sky is striking, and the open fire brings people together for relaxed conversation and traditional refreshments.
